Two ways to use fonts
Chablon lets you style text using two kinds of fonts: fonts picked from the built-in Google Fonts catalogue, and custom font files you upload yourself as brand fonts.
Google Fonts
Fonts selected from the Google Fonts catalogue are provided under their own open-source licenses (typically the SIL Open Font License or Apache License). These are freely licensed for use in projects, including commercial ones, under the terms published by Google Fonts.
Uploaded fonts
Custom font files you upload to Chablon are not vetted, reviewed, or licensed by us in any way. Fonts are commercial products, and most font files carry licensing restrictions on how, where, and by whom they may be used or distributed.
Your responsibility
You are solely responsible for ensuring you hold the appropriate license to use and upload any font file to Chablon.
Before uploading a font, confirm that your license permits uploading it to a third-party tool, embedding it in rendered images, and using it for your intended purpose (personal, internal, commercial, or otherwise).
What we don't do
Chablon does not verify, audit, or guarantee the licensing status of any font you upload. We do not claim any ownership or rights over fonts you upload — they remain your responsibility and, where applicable, the property of their original creators or vendors.
Disclaimer of liability
We disclaim any and all liability arising from fonts uploaded by users, including claims related to copyright infringement or breach of a font's license terms. By uploading a font to Chablon, you agree that you have the necessary rights to do so and that you accept full responsibility for that font's use.
