Print-ready PDF export

Chablon can export a "print-ready" PDF: a vector PDF with real CMYK colors, optional overprint simulation, and an optional output-intent or embedded ICC profile, intended for professional printing rather than on-screen viewing.

What we do

We render your design's own colors, gradients, strokes, and images into the PDF as accurately as our renderer can, honoring any CMYK values, print profile, or custom ICC profile you've set on the template.

What we don't do

Chablon does not print anything itself, and does not control the printer, press, paper, ink, RIP software, or calibration used by whichever print shop or device you send the exported PDF to. We don't inspect a proof, and we don't guarantee that colors, bleed, or any other aspect of the final printed piece will match what you see on your screen or in the exported file.

Your responsibility

You are responsible for reviewing the exported PDF, and for confirming with your printer that it's suitable for their equipment and process, before committing to a print run.

This includes checking colors, bleed and trim, resolution, and any print profile or ICC settings against what your printer actually expects. Different printers, papers, and press conditions can all produce different results from the exact same file.

Disclaimer of liability

We disclaim any and all liability for the outcome of any print run made from a PDF exported through Chablon, including but not limited to color mismatches, misregistration, or any other printing defect, and including the cost of materials, printing, or any reprint. By exporting and using a print-ready PDF, you accept full responsibility for the printed result.

Questions

If you're unsure whether an exported PDF is ready for your printer, check with them directly before sending a job to press. Questions about this policy can be sent to info@chablon.app.
