Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account or otherwise using Chablon, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you don't agree to them, please don't use the service.

2. The service

Chablon is a template design and export tool: you build templates with a visual editor and export images or PDFs from them. Some features require a paid subscription — current plans and pricing are shown on our Pricing page.

3. Accounts

You must provide accurate information when creating an account and keep your login credentials secure. You're responsible for all activity on your account, including anything done by people you invite to one of your projects.

4. Subscriptions & billing

Paid plans are billed on a recurring basis (typically monthly) through Stripe, our payment processor. Prices are shown in EUR and may include VAT depending on your location. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. We may change prices or what a plan includes going forward; we'll give you notice before a change takes effect on your own subscription.

5. Cancellation

You can cancel a subscription at any time from your project's billing settings. Cancelling stops future renewals — access continues until the end of the period you've already paid for.

6. Refunds

Refunds are only available for your current billing period. We don't refund earlier payments, even if you didn't use the service during that period.

If you're not satisfied with the service, contact us at info@chablon.noand we'll refund the payment for your current period. Requesting a refund ends your use of that project: as part of processing the refund, the project the subscription belongs to will be deleted. We can't issue a refund and leave the project in place.

This section doesn't limit any statutory right of withdrawal or other consumer-protection right you may have under mandatory law — see Section 15.

7. Your content

You own the templates, designs, text, images, and other content you create or upload to Chablon ("Your Content"). You grant us the license we need to store, process, and display Your Content in order to provide the service — for example, rendering a preview or generating an export. You're responsible for having the right to use anything you upload, including fonts (see our Font Licensing Disclaimer) and any images or other assets.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use Chablon for anything illegal, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • upload content you don't have the right to use;
  • attempt to break, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the service; or
  • resell access to the service, or give access to people outside a project you've invited them to, without our permission.

9. Multi-user projects

A project can have several members with different roles. The project owner is responsible for who they invite and for that project's subscription. Removing a member doesn't affect the subscription — only the project owner can cancel it or request a refund.

10. Print output

If you export a print-ready PDF, our separate Print Disclaimer applies to the printed result.

11. Service changes & availability

We may add, change, or remove features, and may need to take the service down for maintenance. We don't guarantee the service will be available at all times or free of errors.

12. Intellectual property

Chablon, its name, logo, and underlying software are our property. Nothing in these Terms gives you any rights to them beyond what's needed to use the service.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

Chablon is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

14. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability to you for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the single most recent monthly billing period on the project the claim relates to.

We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including lost profits, lost data, or the cost of printing (see also our Print Disclaimer).

15. Mandatory consumer rights

Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that can't be limited under applicable law (for example, liability for death, personal injury, or fraud), and nothing in these Terms limits any statutory right you have as a consumer under mandatory Norwegian law or other law that applies to you and can't be excluded by contract.

16. Indemnity

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from Your Content or from your breach of these Terms.

17. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms. You can stop using the service and cancel your subscription at any time. See our Privacy Policy for how long we retain data after your account or a project is deleted.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email to registered users before they take effect.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Norway. If you're a consumer, the mandatory consumer-protection laws of your own country of residence may also apply and take precedence over anything in these Terms that conflicts with them.
